The First Undersecretary of the Capital Secretariat, Khaled Al-Madani, inspected work progress on a project to install a solar energy system to operate a water well in Azal District, at a cost of $130,000, with government funding.

Al-Madani, along with the head of the Rural Water Authority, Adel Bader, heard from the local water and sanitation institution director in the secretariat, Engineer Muhammad Madaes, an explanation about the components of the project, which includes the supply and installation of a solar energy system with its accessories, which will provide 166 kilowatts, in addition to an independent system to operate a unit purification and iron treatment with a capacity of 40 kilowatts.

He stressed the urgent need for alternative energy projects to operate water wells, for their role in reducing financial expenses, expanding the provision of water services to citizens, and preserving the environment.

He also praised the efforts of the Water Corporation of the Secretariat and Water Ministry , a
nd the Finance’s Ministry provision of white loans that are repaid by the Corporation.

Al-Madani stressed the Capital Municipality’s keenness and role in supporting the local water and sanitation corporation, expanding water services, and implementing alternative energy projects in a way that contributes to meeting citizens’ needs and alleviating their suffering.
