Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned on Sunday the assassination attempt against Republican candidate and former President of the US Donald Trump.

In a statement on X, Starmer said that he was “appalled by the shocking scenes at President Trump’s rally and we send him and his family our best wishes. Political violence in any form has no place in our societies and my thoughts are with all the victims of this attack.” Trump was targeted during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania with the incident causing a slight injury to one of his ears. Local authorities confirmed the death of two individuals including the attacker identified as Matthew Crooks, 20, by the FBI.
