Biden and Harris affirm their support for Israel after Iran’s attack

The United States warned Iran that it would face severe consequences, due to its ballistic missile attack on Israel, on Tuesday, saying that the attack represents a major escalation but appears to have been thwarted.

US President Joe Biden expressed his country’s strong support for Israel, and described the Iranian attack as ineffective.

Biden said that a discussion is underway on how Israel responds, stressing that he will hold a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Later, Biden told reporters: “The United States fully supports Israel,” adding that it is necessary to wait and see how Israel responds.

Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, considered Iran a “dangerous and destabilizing” force in the Middle East, and that Washington is committed to Israel’s security.

She added in statements: “I clearly recognize that Iran is a destabilizing and dangerous force in the Middle East, and I will always work to ensure that Israel is able to defend itself against Iran and its terro
rist militias.”

Former President Donald Trump also issued a statement after Iran launched the missiles, without directly addressing the attack.

Trump said in the statement: “Iran exports terrorism to all parts of the world, and this is beginning to unfold.”

Trump, the Republican candidate, is running in the presidential elections scheduled for November 5, against Harris.
