Ballot boxes were closed nationwide at 7 pm on Tuesday after Jordanians cast their vote in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

The total number of polling and sorting centres, which included 18 electoral districts, amounted to 1,649, distributed over 5,843 ballot and sorting boxes. 95 centres out of the total were accessible for persons with disabilities.

A total of 697 candidates competed for the general list seats: 505 males and 192 females, and 937 competed for the local district seats: 747 male and 190 female candidates.

According to the new election law, ballot boxes would close at 7:00 pm without the possibility of extension. Counting will begin immediately after the boxes are closed.

The results will be announced within 48 hours.
