The Jordan Valley Authority convened, on Thursday, a meeting with the heads of water user associations in the southern Jordan Valley to discuss the pressing challenges facing farmers and explore effective solutions to overcome them.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Assistant Secretary-General for Southern Water Resources Management, Raed Saoub, highlighted the importance of this meeting, which underscores the Authority’s commitment to fostering a strong partnership between the government and the private sector.

Saoub detailed the measures undertaken by the Authority, including the amendment of irrigation programs and the implementation of technical solutions, particularly at the Maghara spring, to ensure an ample water supply for farmers.

The heads of the associations expressed their gratitude for the Jordan Valley Authority’s efforts in securing water for agricultural purposes and for its proactive measures to address the challenges of the summer season.
