A host of participants in the initiative of Arab youth, the guardians of history and identity, was launched at the headquarters of Arab League in Cairo, on Monday. The youth initiative affirmed that they fully stand with the indomitable Palestinians and Jerusalem institutions.

The participants underlined the importance of redocumenting the history and identity of Jerusalem as an Arab land, in addition to promoting its heritage to remain impregnable against the arbitrary practices of the Israeli occupation forces.

Organized by Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development, in collaboration with civil society organizations at the Arab League, the three-day event underscored the importance of countering the Israeli schemes that intently aimed at Judaizing Jerusalem. They promised to back the efforts of the indomitable Palestinians to liberate Jerusalem to remain under the Arab and Islamic sovereignty.

ughali, stressed the importance of this initiative which is held to promote Jerusalem as an Arab identity in solidarity with the resolutions of the latest 33rd summit held in Bahrain, and reinvigorate the final statement of the “Resilience and Development” high level conference that was held in support of Jerusalem as an Arab and Islamic identity, which unequivocally condemned the attempts of compromising and taking over the city, in addition to obliterating its history.

Abughali underlined that the initiative ingrains previous concepts in the hearts of Arab youth and catalyzes them to redocument the history and identity of Jerusalem against the arbitrary Israeli practices.

For his part, former Palestinian minister for Jerusalem affairs, Hatem Abdulqader, told QNA that this pro-Arab initiative is extremely consequential to corral Arab youth regarding this holy cause, since it is the issue of the entire Arab and Islamic world. He affirmed that the cause not only concerns the Palestinians, but rather the enti
re Islamic and Christian world, as Jerusalem embraces Islamic and Christian sanctities.

Abdulqader added that the initiative is crucial to convey the message of Jerusalem and the plight of its people due to the ethnic cleansing being pursued by the Israeli occupation army against the Jerusalemites.
