The Arab League condemned in the strongest terms on Tuesday the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers led by two ministers in the occupation government, considering that these extremists are pushing matters to the brink of the abyss, and are deliberately provoking the feelings of hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world.

In a statement, Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul-Gheit said that the storming took place under the protection of the Israeli police, which turned the Old City into a military barracks and imposed restrictions on the entry of worshipers, stressing the need for the occupation government to bear full responsibility for this provocative escalation and the persistence in inflaming the feelings of Muslims.

He stressed that these repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque represent a violation of the historical and legal status quo in the city of Jerusalem (Al-Quds), and are part of a systematic Israeli policy of temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque, consid
ering that scoring political points by stirring up religious sentiments and provoking Muslims is a cheap and dangerous strategy.

Tuesday morning, around a thousand settlers stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, where they desecrated the courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals, in an unprecedented scene of storming operations, amid expectations that the number of stormers will reach thousands during this day in the morning and evening periods.
