Baghdad: Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani greeted the Arab presence in Dar al-Salaam to participate in the celebration of the Iraqi press

He said: We celebrate the Iraqi Press Day, Al-Zawraa newspaper, and it played an important role in broadcasting important events, and it reveals to us the national role of the Iraqi press.

Al-Sudani stressed that the Iraqi press, since its establishment, has shouldered a great responsibility.

Al-Sudani said, ‘We are keen to approve all necessary legislation to ensure and support the free press to reach the truth, transparency and credibility, including our insistence on legislating the law on the right to obtain information in accordance with the requirements of professional journalistic work.’

Al-Sudani stressed, “The government has been committed since its formation to supporting the freedom of journalistic work. He said, ‘We are keen to provide decent means of living and issue directives and legislation, the latest of which is allocating a plot of land to the
Iraqi Journalists Syndicate in the residential city of Jawharat Baghdad.

Al-Sudani stressed that “journalists played an important role in supporting the security forces in the war on terrorism and provided dozens of martyrs and wounded”.

Al-Sudani praised the role of the Iraqi press in exposing terrorist crimes and its heinous practices.
