Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani congratulated the national team on its victory over the Omani team in the first matches of the third round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Al-Sudani said in a tweet, “We congratulate the players of our national football team, the coaching staff and all Iraqis, on the occasion of the important victory over the Omani team in the first matches of the third round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Our players were highly responsible and determined to qualify for the finals, and the government will continue to provide all forms of support to achieve the dream of sports fans to qualify.
