Acting Speaker of the Council of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandlawi stressed: “The current circumstances call for the constant need for unity, steadfastness and work to restore our Islamic nation’s pioneering humanitarian and value-based roles.”

Al-Mandlawi said in a speech at the ceremony held on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday at Umm Al-Qura Mosque in Baghdad: “The current stage that the country is experiencing requires the cooperation of the state authorities and the people to confront the trinity of danger threatening our country, which is (corruption, terrorist ideology, and the scourge of drugs and psychotropic substances),” noting that: “These dangers have external sources and internal incubators, and have begun to take multiple forms that require updating methods of deterrence and confrontation.”

Al-Mandlawi stressed that the current circumstances require the constant need for unity, steadfastness, and working to restore our Islamic nation to its pioneering humanitarian and value-based roles,
in addition to consolidating our belonging to Islam and our noble Messenger, in word and deed, in the face of the challenges of intellectual invasion, and steadfastness in intellectual and social battles, in addition to deterring and resisting economic and military attacks.

Al-Mandlawi renewed the keenness of the people’s representatives to perform their constitutional duties (legislative and oversight) with honesty and loyalty in a way that enhances the sovereignty of the state, and to stand side by side in the foreign policy file, especially the position The principle of the Palestinian cause, and providing more political and humanitarian support to the people of Palestine and Gaza.
