The Head of the Azm Alliance, Eng. Muthanna Al-Samarrai, met with the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, today, Sunday.
According to the Azm statement, the meeting discussed the latest developments in the Iraqi political arena and security developments at the local and regional levels. The ongoing escalation in southern Lebanon and several other files related to the regional and international situation were also discussed.
The two sides stressed the importance of reaching common understandings among all political parties in Iraq, which contributes to enhancing political, economic, social and security stability, and the necessity of unifying efforts in order to enhance cooperation among the various political blocs to ensure facing the challenges facing Iraq and the region, and agreeing to decide on the election of a Speaker of the Council of Representatives according to the entitlements and political understandings between the parties concerned.
