The Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed the importance of resolving the general amnesty law file away from mutual political bidding.

A statement from al-Hakim’s office stated that he met today with a group of sheikhs and dignitaries of Anbar Governorate, congratulating them on the blessed birth of the Messenger of God (may God bless him and his family and grant them peace), and explained that there is a great development in the Iraqi scene, as Iraq has experienced many challenges, including sectarian, social and security challenges, and that Iraq’s history, its cultural heritage and the stance of its sons are factors that enabled Iraq to overcome these challenges.

He pointed out that sectarianism is not societal due to the sectarian diversity within a single clan, but rather political, and we must invest in Iraqi diversity in linking Iraq to the countries of the world through good management of this diversity. He explained that terrorism has always thrived on political differences
and people pitting each other against each other.

He stressed that Iraq is experiencing an unprecedented state of stability on the security, political and social levels, and pointed to the efforts being made to choose a new Speaker of the House of Representatives and fill the vacancy in one of the three presidencies. He called for developing stability and building on it to transform it into permanent stability. He stressed that Iraq is admired in the eyes of others for its level of progress in all fields.

In the compensation file, Al-Hakim indicated that there are those who deserve compensation and there are those who exploited some loopholes to obtain something that is not their right, and he suggested relying on people’s testimonies to identify the real victims and sort things out more quickly.

Regarding amending the general amnesty law, he stressed that those involved in the blood of innocents should not be included, and called for resolving the file away from mutual political outbidding.
