Gaza – Ma’an – The Dameer Association for Human Rights in Gaza confirmed that it views with great concern the loss of the most basic necessities of life by the displaced people as winter approaches, including the lack of infrastructure for the displacement sites and their presence in places close to the beach and in open areas.

‘Al-Dameer is sounding the alarm bell for all international, humanitarian and relief organizations due to the severe shortage of life requirements, with more than 1.4 million and four hundred displaced citizens living in tents and shelters that lack the minimum requirements for life and protection as winter approaches,’

she added in a statement received by Ma’an. She continued, ‘Most of the displaced live in canvas tents and tents made of weak wood and tarpaulins that have been exposed to the sun’s heat throughout the summer, which has led to their deterioration and tearing, and they have become unfit for living or buying anything inside, in light of the occupation’s prevention of th
e entry of (tents) for the displaced, which has led to all the displaced fearing the winter and some of them trying to repair what can be repaired from their own tents.

Al-Dameer called on all international, relief and humanitarian organizations to intervene quickly and urgently in order to provide all the supplies to shelter the displaced and the basic requirements of life and protect them from winter and maximize the provision of aid before the onset of winter.’

It also called on the contracting states to the four Geneva Conventions to intervene and stop the aggression and genocide committed by the Israeli war machine against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
