Hodeida First Deputy Governor , Ahmed Al-Bishri, reviewed on Wednesday the extent and nature of the recent damage caused by the floods resulting from heavy rains in a number of directorates.

He and the Deputy Governor for the Hodeidah City Directorates Affairs , Ali Kabari, and the Directors of Humanitarian Affairs, Public Works, Cleaning, Improvement and the Executive Unit for Projects, inspected the blocked roads and the damage level they sustained.

The two deputies, Al-Bishri and Kabari, also supervised the citizens’ evacuation from flood paths to alternative locations , a number of schools, and provided them with aid, food and shelter.

Al-Bishri was briefed on the significant damage caused by the floods to some agricultural lands, the soil erosion level, the extent of efforts made to pump water and respond to the citizens’ suffering in Hodeida, and the extent of the risks of floods on sewage basins.

He directed all offices and concerned authorities to raise their readiness to address flood damage and
remain on alert continuously to secure the floods’ course , rescue citizens, preserve lives , property, and reduce losses resulting from floods.

Al-Bishri also directed the assistant governors for the affairs of the city’s squares, the southern, northern, and eastern directorates, and the directors of the directorates, to go to the field to assess the conditions of the affected families, work with the relevant sectors, and facilitate the efforts of the relief and treatment paths.
