Hodeida’s first undersecretary Ahmed al-Bishri on Monday conducted an inspection to assess the ongoing efforts to confront flood damage in Al-Maghlaf District, Hodeida Province.

During his visit, al-Bishri reviewed the progress of work teams constructing earthen barriers in villages located in flood-prone areas to prevent water from inundating residential zones.

He emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to implement measures that would mitigate damage and protect villages and citizens’ properties during periods of heavy rainfall and flooding, stressing the need for vigilance and precautionary actions.

Al-Bishri highlighted the significant damage inflicted on homes, agricultural lands, and service infrastructure in several villages and areas within the province due to recent torrential floods.

He noted the ongoing relief efforts being undertaken to support those affected.
