The Amman Chamber of Industry’s (ACI) employment unit on Wednesday hosted a workshop on modern and flexible human resources management for the industrial sector, attended by representatives from the Ministry of Labor and various industrial companies. The workshop was organized as part of the Employment in Jordan 2030 project, which is funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). The workshop aimed to introduce participants to modern human resources management, including administrative auditing, methods and feedback of evaluation, as well as solutions provided after evaluation and analysis. According to Mohammad Jitan, the Deputy Chairman of ACI, the operating unit is a vital component of the chamber. It is dependable in creating job opportunities and offering suitable options for the growing number of employees. The Director of the ACI Employment Support Unit, Duaa Khraisha, said that the unit has successfully created 350 job opportunities in the recent past. Specifically, a total of 218 individuals have been employed in various factories located in Qastal, Sahab, and Muwaqqar areas of Amman. The ACI and the GIZ collaborated to establish an employment unit in the industrial sector to train and qualify workers for factories, with the aim of reducing poverty and unemployment. The industrial sector is the biggest employer in the private sector, with over 250,000 male and female workers, of which more than 90 percent are Jordanians.
