The Japanese Meteorological Agency announced that an earthquake measuring 6.6 occurred off the eastern coast of Japan.

Japan issued a warning of a tsunami with a height of one meter for the islands located off the Izu Peninsula on the east coast of the country.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the warning came in the wake of an earthquake measuring initially 6.6 in magnitude, which occurred at 11 a.m. near Torishima Island.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Pacific Ocean, about 550 kilometers south of Tokyo.
