Hebrew media reported that about 50 rockets were launched from Lebanon at dawn on Sunday towards the settlement of Kiryat Shmona and its surroundings, in the Galilee region in northern Israel.

Sirens were sounding in large areas in Galilee Finger and the Upper Galilee in northern Israel, to warn of rockets being launched from Lebanon.

Hebrew media reported that the Israeli army’s air defense systems launched interceptor missiles and succeeded in intercepting a number of rockets launched from Lebanon, while other rockets fell in open areas and did not cause any injuries.

A rocket fell in Beit Hillel settlement in the Upper Galilee, causing a fire to break out in the area. Hebrew media reported that firefighting teams headed to the area in an attempt to control the outbreak of fires.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported earlier on Saturday that the authorities called on the residents of Kiryat Shmona settlement to stay near fortified areas and not to gather after assessing the security situation in t
he area. Hezbollah also announced in a statement on Saturday that it had targeted the Israeli Al-Asi site with artillery shells and “hit it directly.” Since October 8, Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, most notably Hezbollah, have been exchanging daily shelling with the Israeli occupation army across the “Blue Line” separating it, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries.
