/5.9 / Magnitude earthquake hits the Gulf of Aden

The US Geological Survey announced today, Saturday, that an earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale had occurred in the Gulf of Aden, bordering Yemen.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km east of the Gulf of Aden, without any reports so far of damage or injuries.

According to the authority, the epicenter of the earthquake is located 184 km northwest of the city of Bosaso in Somalia, and 238 km southwest of the Yemeni city of Mukalla.
