Al Sadd’s Pedro Miguel, Youcef Atal Sidelined with Injuries

Doha: Al Sadd announced Friday the absence of players Pedro Miguel and Algerian Youcef Atal due to injuries sustained during the team’s last match against Irans Esteghlal in the second round of the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Elite.

In a statement, the club said that Miguel will be out for up to three months due to a hamstring injury. He has already undergone medical examinations and has begun a rehabilitation program to recover.

The club also noted that Youcef Atal suffered a similar hamstring injury and is expected to be sidelined for 6 to 8 weeks before returning to team training.

Al Sadd secured a 2-0 victory against Esteghlal in the match held at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Monday, moving up to third place in the West Zone standings of the AFC Champions League Elite Stage, with a total of 4 points.

Head of the Sports Directorate of the Afghan Olympic Committee Praises Qatar Olympic Academy

Doha: October 03 – Head of the Sports Directorate of the Afghan Olympic Committee Ahmadullah Watigh expressed his admiration for the significant role played by the Qatar Olympic Academy in training leaders and members of sports frameworks, as well as educating community members in general about Olympic and sports culture, which would contribute to the development of the sports and Olympic movement in the region.

HE the Minister confirmed the desire to establish joint cooperation with the Qatari Olympic Academy to develop Afghan administrative and sports cadres and to benefit from Qatari expertise and capabilities in this field, which would constitute a significant addition to the sports sector.

HE the Minister and the accompanying delegation learned about the history of the establishment of the Qatar Olympic Academy, its development, vision, objectives, and its role in promoting sports and Olympic culture within communities. They also reviewed the academy’s agenda, programs, and various courses in all diffe
rent sports and Olympic specialties, which aim to raise cultural, academic, Olympic, and sports awareness among students, both in their daily lives and their professional and career lives.

During the meeting, the aspects of cooperation between the Qatari Olympic Academy and the Sports Directorate of the Afghan Olympic Committee, which could be organized between the two sides in the upcoming period, were discussed.

In addition to the Olympic education workshops organized by the academy both inside and outside its premises. The esteemed minister and the accompanying delegation also toured the academy’s halls, various facilities, and the diverse services in the building that provide and prepare the ideal environment for students to acquire sports sciences in the best atmosphere and to observe the workflow during the implementation of programs and courses in the halls. At the end of the tour in the building, the delegation visited the Qatar Olympic Academy Library, which houses more than six thousand books, ref
erences, and sources, including books on sports and sports-related sciences, as well as an audiovisual materials library.

Executive Director of the Academy Khalil Al Jaber confirmed the Academy’s welcome to HE the Minister and the accompanying delegation at the Academy’s headquarters, and the cooperation with Afghan sports to develop it and put it on the right path it deserves, as the Republic of Afghanistan has talents in various sports that deserve the opportunity to compete in global, Olympic, and continental arenas.

Al Duhail Defeat Al Rayyan to Top Group A in QSL Cup

Doha: Al Duhail defeated Al Rayyan 1-0 on Friday at Grand Hamad Stadium in matchday 3 of Group A in the 2024-2025 QSL Cup.

Spanish player Luis Alberto scored the only goal for Al Duhail from a penalty in the 25th minute. Mubarak Shanan missed a penalty for Al Rayyan in stoppage time (90+7).

With this win, Al Duhail secured their third victory, reaching 9 points and taking the lead in the group. Al Rayyan suffered their first loss, remaining on 6 points in second place.

In another match, Al Arabi defeated Al Shahaniya 2-0 at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium. Wassim Qadari scored in the 13th minute, and Palestinian player Ala’a Eldin Hassan added a second in the 22nd minute.

Al Arabi secured their second victory, rising to 6 points, tied with Al Rayyan but placed third due to goal difference. Al Shahaniya remained in sixth place with 1 point after their second loss.

In the third match, Al Ahli triumphed over Qatar SC 1-0 at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium. Spanish player Erik Exposito scored the game’s only goal in t
he 65th minute, giving Al Ahli their first win and lifting them to fourth place with 3 points. Qatar SC suffered their second defeat and remained in fifth place with 1 point.

The third round will conclude on Saturday with two more matches. Umm Salal, the defending champions, will face Al Gharafa at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, while Al Khor will meet Al Shamal at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium.

The teams are divided into two groups based on their final rankings in the 2023-2024 league season. Group A includes Al Rayyan, Al Arabi, Al Duhail, Qatar SC, Al Ahli, and Al Shahaniya. Group B consists of Al Gharafa, Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Al Shamal, and Al Khor. Notably, Al Sadd has withdrawn from the tournament.

Umm Salal won the 12th edition of the QSL Cup last season (2023-2024) after defeating Al Arabi 3-1 in a penalty shootout, following a 4-4 draw in the final.

Saudi, Egyptian Foreign Ministers Discuss Developments in Lebanon by Phone


Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah discussed the situation in Lebanon and the Israeli escalation in the region during a phone call Friday with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Aati.

Both ministers stressed the two countries’ concern over the Israeli escalation in Lebanon, solidarity with the Lebanese people in the current crisis, and the necessity of enabling the Lebanese State with all its institutions to carry out its duties and extend its sovereignty over all Lebanese territories.

The two sides also underlined the importance of the international community, especially the Security Council, assuming its responsibilities and an immediate and permanent ceasefire in both Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, pointing to the continuation of coordination between the two countries to deal with the dangers facing the Arab region due to the Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

Marib witnesses 13 marches & dozens of vigils in honor of Muslim martyr & in solidarity with Gaza , Lebanon

Marib – Saba : Marib provunce witnessed 13 mass marches and dozens of stances in various directorates under the slogan “loyalty to Muslims martyr …With Gaza and Lebanon, one battle”.

Al-Jubah Square witnessed a mass march of the people of the Southern Square districts, in which the participants condemned the crime of targeting the Secretary General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, by the Zionist enemy, and the enemy’s continued massacres against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples with American support.

The people of Serwah district took part in a mass march led by the province governor , Ali Taiman, in which they renewed their pledge to the martyr of Islam, humanity and Al-Quds to continue the jihad until victory is achieved.

During a mass march in Majzar Square, the people of the Northern Square districts blessed the second Operation True Promise, which was carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran and shattered the enemy’s illusions of power, superiority and control.

b al-Qaramish district took part in marches in Bab al-Hurra, Shujaa and al-Hazm squares, in which the participants renewed their pledge and promise to the Mujahideen in Palestine and Lebanon to stand by their side, no matter how long the battle lasts and no matter what the cost.

During two marches in Al-Tadamon and Al-Jaridaa squares, the people of Badbada district affirmed that the crime of targeting Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will be a nightmare that will haunt the criminal Zionists and the murderers of the prophets until their inevitable demise at the hands of the mujahideen in the Jihad and Resistance Axis .

Participants called on the Arab and Islamic peoples to take action in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, and to break the state of silence and inaction towards the ongoing Zionist aggression on Gaza for nearly a year, which has spread to the West Bank and Lebanon.

A statement issued by the rallies pledged the martyr of Islam, humanity and Al-Quds that “the Yemenis will not deviate from t
he path of jihad on which the martyr, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, remained steadfast until he met God Almighty.”

“We say to the martyr of the nation, as our brothers in Hezbollah said, “As you always promised us victory, we promise you victory again.

The statement blessed the “True Promise II” operation carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran, which covered all the geography of occupied Palestine and destroyed the enemy’s illusions of power, superiority , control, and told him once again that he and his air defenses are weaker than a spider’s house , that his demise is imminent and inevitable.

It renewed the pledge and promise to the Palestinians and their valiant resistance as the second year of the aggression approaches, “that the descendants of Ansar remain with them and by their side and will not fail them no matter how long the battle lasts and at what cost, which is the same pledge , promise to the Lebanese people and to the prevailing Hezbollah.”

Millions rally in Sana’a to support Gaza, Lebanon in “Loyalty to Martyr of Muslims” march

Sana’a – Saba: The capital city of Sana’a witnessed on Friday a massive march, “Loyalty to the Martyr of Muslims: With Gaza and Lebanon, One Battle Until Victory,” drawing millions of participants who reaffirmed their commitment to jihad and solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

Demonstrators proudly waved flags representing Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, and Hezbollah, while chanting slogans honoring the late Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, a symbol of resistance.

Participants carried images of resistance leaders who sacrificed their lives in the fight against what they termed Zionist and American aggression.

The massive crowds praised the recent Iranian military response, which reportedly targeted Israeli bases in retaliation for attacks on Palestinians and Lebanese.

The participants expressed admiration for the resilience of the Palestinian and Lebanese people, highlighting their heroic efforts against the perceived threats from the Occupation entity.

They underscored the Yemeni people’s ongoing
military operations aimed at deterring American and British forces, emphasizing their support for resistance efforts until the defeat of the Israeli enemy is achieved.

A statement delivered by Islamic scholar Mohammed Meftah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Support of al-Aqsa, condemned the ongoing violence against Palestinians in Gaza and beyond.

Meftah stressed the Yemeni people’s unwavering commitment to jihad and their loyalty to Nasrallah and other resistance martyrs, vowing to continue weekly mass demonstrations until victory is secured.

The statement addressed the Israeli forces, warning them that “the nightmare of Nasrallah will continue to haunt you until your inevitable demise.” It concluded with a pledge to uphold the principles of jihad and support the ongoing struggles in Palestine and Lebanon, assuring participants that victory would ultimately belong to the oppressed.

US-UK aggression launches series of airstrikes on capital Sana’a , Hodeida & Dhamar

Sana’a – Saba : The US-British aggression warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on the capital Sana’a ,Al-Hodeida and Dhamar provinces.

Local sources said that the US-British aggression warplanes launched four airstrikes on Al-Thawra district in the capital Sana’a.

They pointed out that the aggression warplanes targeted with seven airstrikes Al-Katheb area , Hodeida airport, and launched an airstrike on the south Dhamar city.
