Masoud Pezeshkian’s first statement after winning the presidency of Iran


Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed today, Saturday, that he ‘will extend the hand of friendship to everyone,’ in his first statement after announcing his victory in the second round of the Iranian presidential elections.

Pezeshkian said, in a statement reported by Iranian media: ‘We will extend the hand of friendship to everyone.’

He added: “We must seek the help of everyone for Iran’s progress. We are all the people of this country.”

He added: “I am not supported by a party or entity, and the people are the ones who elected me.”

The Iranian Ministry of Interior announced, early today, Saturday, that the reformist candidate, Masoud Pazeshkian, had won the Iranian presidential elections.

According to the Iranian Presidential Election Commission, the participation rate in the second round of the presidential elections was 49.8%.

The committee indicated that the total votes counted amounted to 30,530,157 votes.

According to the Iranian Election Commission, Masoud Pezeshkian received 16 mi
llion 384 thousand and 403 votes, meaning he won by (53.6%), while the rival candidate, Saeed Jalili, received 13,538,179 votes, or 44.3%.

Al-Sudani congratulates the new British Prime Minister on his assumption of office


Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani today, Saturday, congratulated British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the occasion of his assuming office and forming the new British government.

In a telegram he sent to Starmer, Al-Sudani expressed his aspiration for the continuation of bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom and the expansion of their horizons, in accordance with the approach of productive partnership and strengthening ties at various levels, and for further development and prosperity, for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.

Al-Sudani also expressed his wishes for the new British government to succeed in its mission, to move towards progress and achieve its goals, and to support international peace and stability.

President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid congratulated the Islamic Republic of Iran on the success of the presidential elections.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, today, Saturday, congratulated the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the occasion of the success of the presidential elections and the victory of Masoud Pezeshkian as President of Iran.

A statement by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives quoted Shakhwan as saying, ‘Ahmed expressed his hopes for developing bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries, in all fields and levels, and the importance of supporting international efforts and endeavors aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region.’

Officially: Masoud Pezeshkian became President of Iran after obtaining 55% of the votes


Masoud Pezeshkian won the second round of the Iranian presidential elections, after obtaining about 55 percent of the voters’ votes.

Spokesman for the Election Commission in Iran, Mohsen Islami, said, according to the IRNA news agency, that according to the latest tally of the results of the Iranian presidential elections in its fourteenth session, Pezeshkian won the second round of the elections after obtaining 16 million and 384 thousand and 403 votes, while Saeed Jalili received 13,538,179 votes, after counting 30,530,157 votes from polling stations in the country and abroad.’

The Spokesman indicated that the participation rate in the second round of the presidential elections reached 49.8 percent.

The second round of the Iranian presidential elections took place yesterday, Friday, across the country, and in about 100 countries in the world, to elect the ninth Iranian President from among the candidates, Masoud Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili.

The first round of the presidential elections in Iran took plac
e on June 28, among the four candidates (Masoud Pezeshkian, Saeed Jalili, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, and Mostafa Pourmohammadi), and none of them was able to win an absolute majority, which necessitated a second round among the candidates with the highest number of votes, namely Bazshkian and Jalili.

A “senior engineer” in Hezbollah’s missile system killed in an Israeli raid

News reports in Lebanon reported, today, Saturday, that an Israeli drone targeted a car in the town of Shaath in Baalbek District, eastern Lebanon, killing one person.

It explained that the Israeli attack was carried out with a missile fired by a drone at a car at the intersection of the town of Shaath in the Baalbek region.

It was revealed that the target of the Israeli strike was a member of the Lebanese Hezbollah called Maytham Al-Attar.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Israeli Air Force carried out an assassination operation targeting a ‘senior engineer’ in Hezbollah’s air defense system in Lebanon.

Tensions between Hezbollah and Israel have escalated in recent months, with growing fears of the outbreak of a wide-scale war that could ignite a regional conflict.

Since the Gaza war began on October 7, Hezbollah and Israel have exchanged bombardments across Lebanon’s southern borders on an almost daily basis.

Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas, says its attacks aim to support Palestinians who are being su
bjected to Israeli bombing in Gaza.
