Qatar Stars League/ QSC Announces Pre-Season Training Camp in Spain


Doha: Qatar Sports Club (QSC) has announced holding its pre-season training camp for 2024-2025, in Alicante, Spain.

In a statement Saturday, the club stated that the external camp for the upcoming season will be held from Jul. 10 to 30, 2024. The team begun the preparations by conducting training exercises at the club’s stadium spearheaded by coach Yousef Al Noubi.

Qatar Club was ranked 8th in the Qatari football league standings last season 2023-2024, with 23 points. Additionally, it was qualified for the Amir Cup final, but lost to Al-Sadd 1-0, at the Education City Stadium.

Al Shahaniya SC to Hold Preseason Training Camp in Turkiye


Doha: Al Shahaniya SC announced that the preseason training camp for the 2024-2025 season will take place in Izmit, Turkiye.

In a press release on Saturday, the club stated that the first football team will conduct its external camp from July 10 to 28. This follows the commencement of preparations for the new season with training sessions at the club’s stadium under the guidance of Spanish coach Alvaro Mejia.

Al Shahaniya returned to the First Division for the upcoming 2024-2025 season after defeating Al Markhiya 3-1 in the decisive match. Al Shahania had finished second in the Second Division standings behind Al Khor last season.

England Secure Spot in Euro 2024 Semifinals with Penalty Shootout Victory Over Switzerland


The England national football team booked its place in the semifinals of the UEFA European Championship (Euro 2024) after defeating Switzerland in a penalty shootout (5-3) following a 1-1 draw in regular and extra time. The quarterfinal match took place on Saturday at the Dusseldorf Arena.

Breel Embolo scored for Switzerland in the 75th minute, but Bukayo Saka equalized for England in the 80th minute.

England will face the winner of the Netherlands against Turkiye match, which is scheduled to take place later today, in the semifinals.

Al Ahli Sign Croatian Defender Matej Mitrovic


Doha: Al Ahli SC announced Saturday the signing of Croatian defender Matej Mitrovic from Croatian side Rijeka.

Mitrovic will join the club’s first football team starting from the next season.

In a statement, the club said that Mitrovic signed his contract in the presence of the club’s general manager Aref Abdulrahman Al Abdullah, and the team manager Abdulrahman Mohammed, to be part of the club’s football team for the 2024-2025 season.

Mitrovic, 30, brings a wealth of experience, having played for several clubs, including Belgian side Club Brugge, with whom he participated in the UEFA Champions League, Turkish club Besiktas, and Croatian club Rijeka. He has also represented the Croatian national team in several matches.

Mitrovic is expected to join Al Ahli’s training sessions in the coming hours in preparation for the upcoming season.

This signing follows Al-Ahli’s recent acquisition of Spanish player Erik Exposito on a three-year contract to bolster their squad.

Al Rayyan Appoint Swedish Coach Poya Asbaghi for One Season


Doha: Al Rayyan announced Saturday the official appointment of Swedish coach Poya Asbaghi for one season, replacing Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim.

In a statement, the club stated that Asbaghi will take charge of Al Rayyan starting from the upcoming 2024-2025 season. Asbaghi was the coach of Al Shamal last season, where he managed the team to ninth place in the Qatari league with 25 points.

Al Rayyan’s decision to hire Asbaghi comes after the club mutually agreed to part ways with Jardim at the end of last month.

Last season, Al Rayyan finished second in the Qatari league with 47 points and reached the final of the Qatar Cup, where they lost to Al Wakrah 1-0. Additionally, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals of HH the Amir Cup, losing to Qatar SC in a penalty shootout (5-4) following a 4-4 draw in regular and extra time.

Martyrdom of a youth from Nour Shams camp due to injuries from Israeli gunfire nearly a week ago


Ramallah – Ma’an – The Ministry of Health announced this Friday evening the martyrdom of the youth Ashraf Hani Mohammed Abdullah (20 years old) due to injuries sustained from Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire in Nour Shams camp east of Tulkarm nearly a week ago.

The ministry clarified that the martyr Abdullah was receiving treatment at the Consultative Hospital in Ramallah.

Martyr Abdullah had been seriously injured on the thirtieth of last month, in the upper parts of his body, as a result of a drone strike by the occupation on his father’s house in Harat al-Manshiyya neighborhood in the middle of Nour Shams camp. He was transferred to Thabet Thabet Government Hospital in Tulkarm, then to the Consultative Hospital in Ramallah.

Martyr Saeed Ezzat Jaber (24 years old) was martyred during the shelling, and 5 citizens were injured, including two in critical condition according to the Ministry of Health, with one of them rising tonight, Ashraf Hani.

With the martyrdom of the youth Abdullah, the number of mar
tyrs who have risen on the ground of Tulkarm governorate since the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7th / October 2023 to 123 martyrs.

An Iraqi doctor enters Guinness with an exceptional achievement
